I remember the moment you were born-there was a collective "Awww" as you looked EXACTLY like your Dad. (Though you had my lungs.) I remember how hugely proud your sister was to be your big sissy. I remember when you started crawling the first time-it was when I had a glimpse into how different boys were from girls. You crawled directly into the bathroom, headed behind the toilet, and started messing with the plumbing. Since you came out of my womb throwing and hitting balls, and had darn good aim-usually directly at us within about 2 feet, I remember your sister and I shopping all over town to find as many soft balls for you to throw. That cut down on our trips to the Chiro just a bit.
One of my all time funniest memories of you when you were little was when I took you on a regular shopping trip to our local market. You insisted on bringing one of sissy's bright pink purses. I had no problem with that at all-thought it was quite cute! Approaching the checkout, one of the guys started teasing you, asking if you were going to pay for our groceries. When asked if you had money in your purse, you opened it up and inside was a golf ball and a race car. I can still hear that guy laughing so hard and saying how not-surprised he was. That's our boy! All boy.
Round of golf...
Eating mommy's ice cream cake.
Enjoying your best gift. Miss Roca Ruth-named for the ballpark where you won your BB tourney and found her; and appropriately named for Babe Ruth. :-)
Happy 10th Birthday, R!! We love you!!
